AJ Rivosecchi, PharmD
AJ is currently the Sr. Product Manager for Bluesight Insights at Kit Check. He completed his undergraduate studies and Pharmacy school at the University of Pittsburgh, graduating Summa Cum Laude with a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree. He has over 10 years of hospital pharmacy experience, most recently serving as the Manager of Pharmacy Operations for UPMC St. Margaret Hospital in Pittsburgh where he championed many process improvement projects including implementing a controlled substance diversion monitoring program in conjunction with nursing leadership. AJ was active in Health System Pharmacy Operations planning and initiatives including policy review and development, chairing the UPMC Pharmacy Operations Finance committee and serving on the Health System Pharmacy Operations Construction and Diversion committees. AJ has extensive experience in all aspects of health system pharmacy operations, controlled substance management, coordinating diversion investigations, peri-operative pharmacy services and pharmacy automation.

Amy Bent
Amy is the Pharmacy Operations Manager at UPMC Williamsport. Where she is responsible for ensuring proper, safe, and efficient dispensing of medications throughout her hospital and 2 of its other satellite campuses. She works closely with her Leadership team to improve processes and search for methods to improve the hospital’s efficiencies. She takes an active role in her hospital’s medication safety committee and works in partnership with its Patient Safety Officer and nursing managers to assure safe medication practices.

Doug Zurawski, PharmD
Doug Zurawski currently serves as Senior Vice President, Strategic Accounts at Kit Check, the leader in automated and intelligent medication management solutions. His goal is to dramatically improve the efficiency and safety of handling and tracking medications in hospitals. Zurawski spent the first 10 years of his career on the provider-side of healthcare serving in various health-system pharmacy leadership positions in Iowa and Michigan. The second 10 years of his career were spent in sales and marketing, sales management, and product development on the healthcare pharmacy technology division of McKesson and for technology start-up ForHealth Technologies, the world’s first provider of robotic automation for the compounding of IV admixtures in hospitals. In addition, Dr. Zurawski has experience as an independent consultant to hospitals and health systems in a variety of capacities, including IT, bedside point-of-care scanning, computerized physician order entry and pharmacy operations. He holds a Pharm.D. and serves as an educator and adjunct faculty member at the University of Michigan and University of Maryland Eastern Shore Colleges of Pharmacy.

Glen Olsheim
Glen Olsheim is Vice President of Business and Product Development for Fagron Sterile Services, a division of Fagron, a global corporation with 65 business units in 35 countries. Glen leads the new product development team and has been a champion of RFID technology in addition to the multiple unique products that Fagron manufactures. Fagron Sterile Services is headquartered in Wichita, Kansas, and is an industry-leading 503B Outsourcing Facility.

Mike Olsen
Mike is the Product Manager for Kit Check and is focused on making medication intelligence a reality for the hospital pharmacy. Before joining Kit Check, Mike worked in product management at Cambridge Associates, a leading investment management firm. Mike earned his B.A. from the University of Richmond and has spent time living abroad in England and Ecuador.

Nilesh Desai, MBA, BS, RPh, CPPS
Nilesh Desai joined Baptist Health as chief pharmacy officer in March 2020. In this newly created role, he is responsible for pharmacy operations across the eight-hospital system, including oversight of the system’s retail pharmacies.
Desai spent 21 years with Hackensack University Medical Center/Hackensack Meridian Health in New Jersey, most recently as administrator of pharmacy and clinical operations. In this leadership role, he oversaw inpatient, outpatient and retail pharmacies and had responsibility over OB/GYN and maternal-fetal medicine physician faculty practices.
He also served as a program preceptor for the PGY1 pharmacy residency program and a clinical adjunct professor with the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy and Massachusetts School of Pharmacy.
Under Desai’s leadership, the hospital implemented a number of successful systems, including Epic medical record software, Barcoded Medication Administration, National Drug Code billing, e-prescribing, and other technologies. The hospital also constructed USP-compliant clean rooms for sterile and hazardous compounding.
Desai led an effort to centralize and integrate all decision-making on technology, training, educational materials, formulary standardization, medication management policies, workflows, Epic build and standardization across the Hackensack Meridian Health network.
In addition, he expanded the clinical pharmacist team and the pharmacy residency program, and established Transitions of Care, Med to Beds, and PGY2 Emergency Medicine programs.
Desai holds a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and an MBA in healthcare.

Alan J. Arville
Attorney Alan Arville provides strategic, transactional, and regulatory guidance to the health care industry.
His practice focuses on matters relating to the distribution, dispensing, and reimbursement of pharmaceuticals, including Medicare Part D, Medicare Advantage, the 340B Drug Discount Program, federal anti-kickback and anti-inducement laws, HIPAA privacy and security, health care licensing, drug purchase agreements, payor contracting, and affiliations and other collaborative arrangements. Alan’s clients include regional and national pharmacy chains; specialty pharmacies; health care systems; disproportionate share hospitals, federal grantees, and other 340B-covered entities; drug manufacturers and distributors; group purchasing organizations; and pharmacy services administrative organizations. Alan also devotes a substantial portion of his practice to representing private equity firms in the evaluation, due diligence, and acquisition of health care companies.
Pharmacies (chain and independent pharmacies, retailers with pharmacy operations, and specialty pharmacies) seek Alan’s advice on a diverse array of transactions and compliance issues. For example, Alan advises on patient reward and drug discount programs, manufacturer and third-party payor relations, Medicare Part D compliance, medication therapy management services, health and wellness programs, data sharing arrangements, 340B contract pharmacy arrangements, and limited distribution network and other specialty pharmacy models.

Chris Hutts, PharmD, MBA, MS
Despite being a Louisiana native, Chris Hutts has strong Arkansas roots and a love for his state. He lives in North Little Rock with his wife, Deborah (Clinical Service Manager at UAMS Longevity), and three children, Vivian, Nate, and Wesley and his immediate family all resides across Arkansas. Chris earned his Bachelor’s in Science and Master’s in Science Degrees from Arkansas State University, and his Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) receiving multiple awards as a student pharmacist. He most recently obtained his Master’s in Business Administration from Louisiana State University.
Currently, Chris Hutts is the Manager of Pharmacy Procurement at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences Inpatient Pharmacy. Chris possesses a strong background in pharmacy procurement, pharmaceutical compounding and aseptic operations, with over 17 years of experience.
Chris has obtained valuable experience in operations, quality management, and regulatory affairs throughout his career. Positions he has held include Staff Pharmacist, Director of Product Development, Manager of Pharmacy Procurement, and Director of Pharmacy. He has worked collaboratively and directly with many large healthcare organizations and GPO’s throughout the country, developing strong analytical and communication/negotiation skills.
Chris is fluent in compliance with pharmacy laws, statutes, and regulations from multiple state boards of pharmacy, DEA, and FDA that govern pharmacy operations. In addition to his diverse knowledge and expertise in many areas of pharmacy, Chris has held pharmacist licenses in 15 states.
On weekends, Chris likes to spend time relic hunting with a metal detector. He also enjoys making data-driven decisions at the horse races, and has authored several articles and presents a handicapping seminar at the yearly Arkansas Pharmacy Association’s “CPE Day at the Races.”

Kyle Brauer, PharmD, MBA

Lauren Forni, PharmD, MBA
Lauren Forni is the Director of Clinical Solutions for Kit Check, the leader in automated and intelligent medication management solutions. Lauren has 8 years of pharmacy management experience, most recently serving as the Assistant Director of Pharmacy Services at Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital. She is passionate about modernizing health systems through innovation and technology solutions to empower clinicians and improve patient care. Lauren has expertise in improving strategic, operational, and financial performance within a health system and has extensive knowledge of pharmacy supply chain, pharmacy operations, informatics and information systems, 340B, and drug diversion.

Bryan McGurn
Bryan McGurn has over 30 years’ experience in the medical device field. Prior to his position as VP Sales & Marketing, Bryan held a number of key roles in executive and general management with P&L responsibility. Throughout his career, he has made a mark in orchestrating countless revenue-generating sales programs and marketing campaigns that clearly articulate product benefits and organizational strengths. His previous management tenures include companies such as American Hydro-Surgical, Nipro Corporation, and Medtronic MiniMed.

Danielle Neal, PharmD, MBA, BCPS
Danielle Neal is the Director of Drug Diversion and Controlled Substances Compliance within Pharmacy Shared Services at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist. She is a graduate of Campbell University’s College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. Additionally, Danielle completed her Master of Business Administration at The Lundy-Fetterman School of Business at Campbell University. Danielle has served in various leadership capacities during her career in both Retail and Acute Care settings. Danielle’s professional interests include pharmacy compliance and operations, analytics and informatics, medication safety, and maximizing individuals and teams. Danielle is a native to North Carolina where she resides with her husband and 3 children.

Jake Nichols
Jake Nichols is a pharmacist in long‐term recovery with extensive experience in community pharmacy, academia, primary care, managed care, and the pharmaceutical industry. He specializes in the treatment of substance use disorders, with a focus on medication for addiction treatment. He regularly speaks at conferences across the country, highlighting his experiences as a patient, along with the importance and value of treatment. Through his fifteen-year struggle with substance use, he found his calling in the field and has dedicated his career to helping patients and their families suffering from this debilitating chronic disease. By providing clinical support for clinicians treating patients with substance use disorder and serving as a vocal advocate for treatment, Jake has established himself as a key resource within the field.
Dr. Nichols has shared the story of his own struggles with addiction at well over 200 pharmacy, nursing, and medical schools across the country. He also regularly facilitates patient and parent support groups. Jake is currently the Co‐founder, President, and CEO at Renovo Health, which offers key stakeholders evidence‐based tools and support to enhance patient outcomes. He received his Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy in 2000 and his master’s degree in Business Administration from UMass Boston in 2007.

Jennifer Splawski, PharmD, MS, BCPS
Jennifer is a passionate pharmacy leader with 10+ years of experience creating pharmacy service lines. Most recently Jennifer served as the Clinical Coordinator for Loyola University Medicine – MacNeal Hospital in Berwyn, IL with a primary practice area in Emergency Medicine. As a coordinator, one of her many responsibilities included reviewing and trending hospital-wide medication safety errors and collaboratively working with other departments to create systems to prevent medication errors. She believes that information technology solutions are crucial to reducing medication errors and keeping our patients safe. She has received her Bachelors of Science degree in psychology from the University of Illinois, her PharmD from the University of Illinois at Chicago and her Masters of Science degree in Pharmacy focusing in Toxicology from the University of Florida. She has completed a postgraduate year one residency at the University of California at San Francisco and is a Board-Certified Clinical Pharmacy Specialist
Jim Brewer, CPhT
Jim Brewer, CPhT is a Drug Diversion Prevention Specialist for University of Iowa Health Care. He graduated from Biola University with a biology degree. Jim has been in hospital pharmacy since 2004 starting with outpatient pharmacy. He also managed pharmacy technician operations for IV Admixtures and Central Inpatient Pharmacy at UIHC. He has been working in drug diversion prevention since 2018 including the transition to automated monitoring of controlled substance transactions. Jim lives in Iowa with his wife and four children.

Leah Mitchell, PharmD, MBA
Leah Mitchell, PharmD, MBA is a drug diversion pharmacist with Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist. She is a graduate of Campbell University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. Interest in drug diversion, controlled substance regulation, and related technologies began while serving in various acute care leadership roles over the past 10 years. Leah resides in North Carolina with her husband and 2 children.

Samir Neyazi
Samir Neyazi is the Director of Product for Bluesight for Controlled Substances. Samir is responsible for the development and implementation of the product strategy, execution on the product roadmap, and planning of go-to-market strategies for the business line. Samir’s background is in other B2B SaaS product roles at early-stage startup, Convoke, and top Canadian software company, OpenText, has been focused on helping customers solve complex information supply-chain challenges. Samir earned his B.S from James Madison University.

Terri Vidals, B.S.Pharm.
Theresa “Terri” has been a pharmacist for over 30 years with 15 years of experience in medication safety and drug diversion monitoring. Her background includes work in various clinical roles, as well as leadership roles such as Pharmacy Operations Manager, Medication Safety Officer and Pharmacy Director. She has overseen and started diversion monitoring programs at healthcare facilities. Terri is a subject matter expert in drug diversion prevention and monitoring. In addition to her years of experience in hospital pharmacy and involvement in drug diversion prevention and monitoring, she possesses the ability to see the big picture. She knows what to look for and how to look for it. While she is compassionate toward healthcare professionals that have a substance abuse problem, she also understands the safety risks and is not afraid to ask the hard questions during investigation interviews. She is also the host of Drug Diversion Insights, a podcast for those in the healthcare industry looking for ways to reduce substance abuse and drug diversion. She founded Rxpert Solutions so that all facilities would have access to her expertise as an alternative to, or to act as a bridge while waiting for, personnel on site to develop the expertise.
